National Volunteer Week is April 23-29
In recognition of National Volunteer Week, April 23-29, the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities acknowledges and thanks the many volunteers who are active throughout our broad network. Our members and communities are stronger because of the volunteers who lend their time, talent, and voices to support our missions.
Join the Alliance in celebrating the impact of volunteer service on our communities. The local events and social media conversations that take place during this week demonstrate that service brings people together to tackle tough challenges, create change, and build stronger, more vibrant communities.
The Alliance looks to contribute to the sector’s knowledge about how to intentionally leverage the talents of adults 50 years old and older through its intergenerational initiative, Second Acts for Strong Communities. A cohort of 10 members is working together to identify how to maximize the skills and expertise of adults to drive positive outcomes while uniting generations in a way that helps everyone benefit.
National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to shine a light on these individuals, along with all the volunteers across the country. Volunteerism empowers individuals to find their purpose and passion and turn it into meaningful change.
