Objective: You will examine your current human resources policies around employee development, advancement, and promotion; identify practices that may prevent underrepresented populations from attaining leadership positions; and identify new practices to create pathways for advancement for those populations.

Intended Audience: This guide is intended for executive leaders, human resources leaders and leaders in general who make hiring and recruitment decisions within their respective organizations who want to advance equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Objective: You will examine your current practices as they relate to hiring and advancing people from your community within your organization and create achievable goals with action steps to promote the hiring and/or advancement of people from the community.

Intended Audience: This guide is intended for leaders at the director level or higher, particularly those who are responsible for hiring and promotion functions and are interested in building an organization that reflects the community it serves. This guide is a follow up to the Critical Thinking guide Pathways for Advancement.
