In her Snapshots presentation at the 2019 Alliance National Conference, Ashlee Weaver, director of engagement at the Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center, explains the benefits of challenging residents and supporters to concentrate on their communities' positive factors rather than its shortcomings. She describes how community-based organizations can use Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) to promote community engagement and create effective change in areas of improvement; using her own organization in Indianapolis as an outstanding example.

Ashlee points out that as people begin to talk about the positives, what is working, and learn of all the great resources in their neighborhood, the energy level exponentially increases, and residents are encouraged to lead and participate in the positive developments around them.

Hear Ashlee's powerful stories and the impact of ABCD on neighbors, neighborhoods, and nonprofits in her Snapshots presentation.
