This week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Interior/Environment “mini-bus” appropriations package, which included an anti-Johnson Amendment rider (Section 112). The rider would restrict the ability of the IRS to enforce nonprofit nonpartisanship.

The Alliance joined a statement with the National Council of Nonprofits, Council on Foundations, and Independent Sector in support of nonprofit nonpartisanship. Advocacy efforts now will shift to ensure anti-Johnson amendment language is not included in the final spending bill. You can take action to ensure the Johnson Amendment remains protected by calling your Senator’s office with talking points provided by the Alliance.
