Position Summary

The Human Resources (HR) team at NVFS supports employees across the Agency in a multitude of ways including talent acquisition, benefits and wellbeing programming, and learning and development. The HR Generalist (Learning & Development) will serve as a learning ambassador at NVFS and play a central role in driving a learning culture at the Agency. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the capacity for learning and development to significantly impact an employee's success. This learning and development-focused role provides an integral and excellent opportunity to reimagine, refine and champion the notion of a learning mindset – what it means, how to fill learning gaps across the Agency, and how to leverage various learning opportunities and platforms – in order to elevate our service delivery and instill a love for ongoing learning and development across the Agency. Working as a part of the larger HR Team, the HR Generalist may also participate in other confidential and administrative functions to support the day-to-day operations of the HR team as needed relating to onboarding, employee wellbeing, talent development, policies and compliance, employee relations, total rewards and recognition. The HR Generalist must ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements in all activities and responsibilities. This position allows for remote work and flexible hours. Learning and Development: •Develop a coherent and inclusive learning roadmap in collaboration with HR team and staff. •Work closely with department-specific leaders to understand agency-wide training offerings, identify gaps and learning needs, and share internal best practices. •Identify different adult learning practices to deliver diversified and various learning solutions to cater to a variety of different learning styles. •Design skills matrices, learning experiences and training that appeal to today’s learner on an individual basis. •Lead engagement and pulse surveys on learning and development; leverage data to help drive informed learning opportunities, training programs and content, and platforms to enhance learning capabilities. •Stay informed on learning techniques, technologies and methods; actively pursue advancements in the learning & development landscape. Other Program Support: •Assist with the development of HR policies and procedures. •Assist with the coordination of NVFS employee events. •Consider policies, processes, communications, and practices with equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) lens. •Work with HR Team to continuously evolve the employee life cycle at NVFS. •Participate in regular supervision with supervisor by providing regular updates and participating in HR Team Meetings. •Maintain working knowledge on NVFS programs, employment regulations, HR best practices and employment law. •Completes other projects assigned by Executive Vice President, Human Resources. Qualification and Additional Requirements: An individual may obtain skills through a variety of professional, personal, educational, and volunteer experiences. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required to perform essential job duties. •Bachelor’s degree preferred; coursework in learning and development-related fields (such as Organizational Psychology, Education, etc.) a plus. •Prior experience working in Human Resources or a related capacity such as performing organization-wide needs assessments, evaluating learning and/or training needs, identifying learning platforms, and/or managing learning initiatives. •Demonstrated ability to adapt, learn quickly and think strategically. •Learning champion with forward thinking, ability to cultivate strong working relationships and desire to build talent. •Cross-cultural awareness: demonstrated ability to communicate successfully with people from a variety of background and cultures. •Strong research, data gathering and organizational skills. •Oral and written fluency in English required. Additional language skills always welcome. •Proficiency in usage of basic technological tools including laptops/computers, email, phones, and internet required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required. •Familiarity with learning platforms and tools a plus. •Must be able to demonstrate and live the organizational values of Communication, Integrity, Respect, Collaboration, and Accountability. •Successful completion of background checks upon hire.
