Strengthening the Talent Pipeline within an Organization
To achieve its human capital and workforce goals, Alliance member Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JFCS) in Tucson, Arizona, completed a workforce assessment and started the JFCS Leadership Academy, a strategic framework for leadership development. This critical investment in staff fosters leadership and employee engagement, which positions the organization to continue thriving in a dynamic health care environment.
In this podcast, Linda Scott, vice president of child and family solutions, and Gerald Peters, director of training and development at JFCS, discuss why the organization chose to develop the leadership academy and provide an overview of the academy’s curriculum, structure, staff involvement, impact, lessons learned, and next steps for making a greater impact.
In 2017, JFCS received the Alliance Commitments Award for Leading with Vision in the impact area Nonprofit Talent Pipeline. The organization was recognized for achieving excellence in building a robust and diverse talent pipeline that can meet challenges faced by the social sector.
