The 2018 CFO Roundtable sessions and discussions will drill deeper into the Alliance’s recently released report A National Imperative: Joining Forces to Strengthen Human Services in America, which is a cross-sector call to action for community-based organizations, the public sector, philanthropy, and other intersecting systems to help advance the financial health of community-based organizations, which are central to the health, well-being, and success of individuals, families, and communities.

Dig into National Imperative Findings
John MacIntosh, one of the report contributors, will provide greater context and detail around the findings and recommendations from the National Imperative study. He’ll also participate in the financial risk management panel later in the Roundtable, which will delve into developing a robust financial risk management plan.

Strategies to Address our Financial Health
The second and third days of the Roundtable will feature sessions on the report’s recommendations, referred to as North Star initiatives. Sessions on pay for success and collaborating across sectors to measure and track outcomes will be presented by leaders from Social Finance and a Minnesota county’s administration. A Nonprofit Finance Fund director will discuss what it takes to understand your organization’s true costs to support funding negotiation, risk assessment of new programs and opportunities, unit cost determination to support outcome, and more.

Sharing Solutions
As it is a popular staple at the CFO Roundtable, we will have a frank but solution-oriented open forum on how to address pressing challenges confronting financial executives in our sector. There will also be ample opportunity to network during a dinner Wednesday evening and a networking reception Thursday evening.

The Alliance for Strong Families and Communities' CFO Roundtable is the premier peer learning and networking opportunity for finance executives at human-serving organizations. The Roundtable’s sessions are delivered by colleagues and industry thought leaders who understand the unique challenges and opportunities of nonprofit organizations.
