At SAFY, our Mission is to Preserve Families and Secure Futures. Through our Model of Care, we provide coordinated, community-based programs that ensure the physical and emotional safety of each individual while improving family functioning.
The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for providing leadership and vision necessary to ensure SAFY has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to provide excellent service, effectively grow the organization and ensure financial strength and operating efficiency.
This will be accomplished through the following:
Ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems. This is accomplished by providing disciplined, strategic direction to address the internal day to day operations and cost-effective programs and services.
Work in conjunction with executive leadership to create strategic goals. Recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve goals and develop & implement a system that measures and evaluates progress against goals.
Coordinate the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies. Identify opportunities for SAFY to leverage cross-program strengths to take advantage of new opportunities and/or address organizational challenges.
Lead, coach and develop a high-performance leadership team with an emphasis on developing capacity in strategic analysis and planning & program budgeting.
Perform scheduled evaluations providing effective coaching and development for all direct reports.
Responsible for ensuring services are in compliance with all federal, state, funding, and certification/licensing requirements.
Ensure effective implementation of systems to track progress, regularly evaluate program components, and measure outcomes that can be effectively communicated to SAFY of America, the board, funders, and other constituents. Provide accurate and timely reporting.
Office location is open however this position will supervise SAFY Executive Directors and a Network Administrator located within our 7 state operating area. The ability to travel to our 30 divisional offices, as well as maintain connectivity with the Executive Leadership Team based in Columbus, OH is crucial.
Master’s degree in human services, business, or a related field with experience.
Independent state licensure preferred.
Ten plus years of demonstrated, progressively responsible leadership experience in a multi-location, multi-program child welfare agency with a focus on Therapeutic Foster Care and Family Preservation; national perspective and best practice experience; continuous improvement mentality critical; experience building and operationalizing new programs, services and revenue.
