Steve Monsen is lead designer at the Alliance for Children and Families. As lead designer, Steve is in charge of all print, web, instructional, and interaction design.
Steve is a Senior Communications and Instructional Designer with over 18 years experience. Prior to joining the Alliance, Steve worked as: a senior art director at High Velocity Communications, a custom magazine publisher for Caterpillar and other fortune 500 companies; communications specialist at FABCO Equipment Inc., a Caterpillar dealer in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan; Graphic Designer at Auto Meter Products; Graphic Designer at Stephen Fossler Company; Designer at The Alphabet Shop; and Designer at Contract Manufacturing Corporation.
Since creating his first design project in Architecture, over 20 years ago, he’s been hooked on the total design experience. As Steve says “there is nothing quite like letting your mind go and coming up with ideas that are out there, off the deep end, and move your senses, especially when you see that your designs affects people in very emotional ways.” He enjoys the creative process, mentoring others, and is an expert with the Adobe Creative Suite software.

Steve is currently pursuing a bachelor’s in instructional design and technology in human factors and interface design at Walden University. When finished Steve wants to focus his time on creating better learning experiences for students of all ages.
Monsen enjoys skiing, woodworking, and spending time with his family at their cabin in the north woods of Wisconsin.
