Nancy Kunkler is public relations manager at the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities. She works strategically with the media and other external parties to raise the national profile of the Alliance.
She also writes for the Alliance for Children & Families Magazine, writes for the Alliance E-News, and works on special projects for the Alliance.
For more than 11 years, Kunkler worked closely with the late Peter Goldberg, president and CEO of the Alliance, as his speechwriter.
Prior to joining the Alliance, Kunkler worked for Mueller Communications for four years. She managed public relations activities for several clients.
Kunkler also worked in the Washington, D.C., area for four years as an administrative assistant at a defense contracting company, and as an account assistant at Hager Sharp.
Kunkler graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a bachelor’s in journalism, with an emphasis in public relations. At the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, she had a successful career as a track and field athlete, receiving 7 All-American awards, including a national championship in the 1500 meters event in 1990.
She is married to Andy Kunkler and is a resident of Jackson, Wisconsin. They have two children, Holly and Chad. Kunkler and her husband spend most of their free time watching and coaching their kids in soccer, basketball, softball, baseball, hockey, and downhill skiing.
