New Severson Center Favorite Resource: Measure of America
Measure of America (MOA) has been named as the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities Severson Center's newest favorite resource. It provides easy-to-use, methodologically sound tools for understanding the distribution of well-being and opportunity in America. It also offers fact-based dialogue about issues, including health, education, income, and living standards.
The hallmark of MOA is the American Human Development Index, an alternative to gross domestic product and other money metrics used to describe how Americans are faring. The index empowers communities with the ability to track progress over time.
MOA's tools include interactive maps, a common good forecaster, teacher guides, and an opportunity index. Several companion publications related to the site also are available.
