Featured Alliance Peer Exchange Group: Facilities Management
Building acquisitions, rentals and sales, property maintenance, fleet management and insurance, safety and security—the list of concerns goes on for staff who are responsible for facilities management. To help, the facilities management Alliance Peer Exchange (APEX) group offers the support of the network!
With nearly 60 members, this APEX group offers a wide variety of perspectives on relevant issues. The group's collaboration space on myAlliance offers a focused discussion area, as well as a central location for sharing helpful materials and resources. Join to get input from multiple viewpoints!
The current core team of leaders, which is responsible for charting the direction of the group, includes:
- Jay Ziehl, COO at UMFS in Richmond, Virginia
- Joanne Robis, manager of administrative services at Lad Lake in Dousman, Wisconsin
- Sue Coenen, librarian, who is the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities staff liaison and embedded librarian for the group

The Alliance's upcoming webinar How to Manage Risk and Increase Workplace Safety, to be held March 7 from 1-2 p.m. CT was developed partly with facilities management professionals in mind.
