Alliance Member Case Studies
Members of the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities are demonstrating the effectiveness of an appropriate continuum of child welfare services and supports that are home- and community-based with therapeutic residential services used when stabilization and treatment are necessary.
Through federal child welfare finance reform, the Alliance network aims to bridge current effective practices, occurring at exemplary sites across the country, into nationwide systems reform. Our vision is a child welfare system that delivers an appropriate, integrated continuum of protective and therapeutic interventions to children and families, at the earliest identification of need, in a cost-effective, efficient and family-friendly manner.
Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services
Alliance member Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services in Pasadena, California, provides a comprehensive continuum of services to thousands of children and families across greater Los Angeles. In 2002, the organization recognized the wraparound model in the child welfare system as so successful that it should not be a boutique program, but an orientation of care throughout the agency experienced by every child and family. William Martone, president and CEO, led a program leadership team to hardwire values-driven care throughout the organization.
