Alliance Corporate Structure
The Alliance for Strong Families and Communities includes unique organizational assets that are aligned with its mission and vision.
One of these assets is its community development financial institution (CDFI). While currently operating as the Ways to Work poverty reduction program, the Alliance seeks to further leverage the CDFI for the benefit of the Alliance network and the capital-constrained nonprofit sector to help with capacity building, innovation, technical assistance, and social enterprise development.
Another asset is FEI Behavioral Health, the social enterprise unit wholly owned by the Alliance, which provides organizations with flexible solutions for the full spectrum of workforce resilience goals. A number of Alliance members work closely with FEI by serving as counseling providers within FEI’s Employee Assistance Program network or by offering crisis counseling to FEI’s Crisis Management Services clients.
The Alliance shares office space in its National Operations Center in Milwaukee with its CDFI and social enterprise. The office also houses the American Association of Children’s Residential Centers, which is managed under a partnership agreement with the Alliance.
The Alliance's president and CEO and board of directors work to create and maintain an environment that promotes the sharing of ideas, information, and resources between the Alliance and its CDFI and social enterprise.
The Alliance is a member of Well City Milwaukee, a demonstration of its commitment to making Milwaukee a healthy, vibrant city by promoting a robust worksite wellness culture.
